The Boathouse, Llanbedrog

There can be few more iconic houses in the whole of North Wales than those situated on Llanbedrog Beach. Believed to be one of only two beaches in the UK that can boast deciduous trees growing directly onto the sand it is no wonder that Llanbedrog is designated as an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and was recently voted as the third most beautiful beach in the UK by readers of the Independent newspaper.

The property that now forms the Boathouse was originally four fishermen's cottages before the Glyn Y Weddw Estate began using the building to house its rowing boats.

However, the outstanding feature of the property is the magnificent direct beach frontage. At low tide the sandy beach stretches for 4 miles while at high tide the sea laps against the boundary wall of the property!

Dolphins are regular visitors to Llanbedrog Bay!

Befriend the local fisherman and you will often be offered the pick of their catch, including Sea bass, lobster and Mackerel!

Should you wish to move from Llanbedrog,  Abersoch is only 1 mile away and at low tide you can walk around Llanbedrog Headland onto Abersoch Warren Beach.
